April 18, 2023 Everything Sad Is Untrue, Daniel Nayeri At Nellies 7:00 Everything Sad is Untrue is an autobiographical novel that is both “fiction and nonfiction.” Nayeri, his mother, and his sister sought refuge in the United States when he was eight years old, having fled from Iran. He details the story of how and why his family fled from Iraq while also interworking the story of his ancestors and the story of his life in Oklahoma with a stepfather who abuses his mom and classmates who bully him.

Jenn G will host our July book club on Tuesday, July 26th at 7p (my house: 6956 Lawnpark Dr., Brecksville). To provide a little break having a book selected for you, this month is "pick your own". The only guideline is to choose a title included in Cuyahoga County library's June or July "Book Page". If you did not receive one at my mom's house, you can pick one up from the library. Or if it's tough for you to get there, I'd be happy to send along some titles that are listed.

Heaven's Nice I've Been There Twice March 22, 2022 at Tricia's I’m looking to host at my place most likely Tues. March 22nd. As I mentioned the author is a relative who I’m sure we can ZOOM in for a bit from Phoenix. I brought several books to book club and think it’s a pretty quick read for many so feel free to share as needed. It’s also on Amazon for 9.99
I appreciate everyone supporting Tim (my dad’s cousin) and hope you enjoy his personal story of golf, God and living his best life and overcoming a lot of obstacles. He really did flat line on the golf course! He’s a wonderful man and I’ve enjoyed getting to know him more through golf with my Dad and Leo.
All the Ugly and Wonderful Things hosted by Nellie, February 16, 2022 6546 Summer Wind Dr. Yes, it is dark and controversial as ever, but it is a book with characters that jump off the page. A page turner with a plot that moves. Here is a review I can relate to: "This book destroyed me. I have never read anything like it. I came to the end of the novel with my mind-reeling, my emotions scattered, and completely unsure exactly what I did feel about it...but one thing is certain: I felt. Oh hell, I felt. I don't think I'll ever get these characters off my mind”. ―So yes not all things we read hit us the same way. If you feel while reading it that you hate it, then please don’t read anymore! I will not take it personally. It is one of those books that piss some people off.
